GET CONNECTED
Start with two Windows computers on a trusted local network.
Extract the ZIP on both computers. It contains the host, viewer, README and licence. No installer needed.
Run tidedesk-host.exe on the computer you want to reach. Note its address and access code. Allow access on your private network if Windows Firewall asks.
Run tidedesk-view.exe on your other computer. Enter the host address and code, then compare the first-connection fingerprint with the host.

BEFORE YOU CONNECT
It is an early alpha, not a production remote-administration tool. Automated checks run for releases, but real-world testing is still ongoing. One viewer can connect at a time. Report a problem on GitHub.
The published alpha executables are unsigned. Check your release notes for signing status and compare the SHA-256 checksum. A checksum checks file integrity; it is not a publisher signature. Microsoft Store distribution is being prepared, but no Store download is available yet.
No. The viewer starts at the host’s native pixel size when it fits, and scales down when needed. A 2560 × 1600 host can appear as a smaller window on a 4K display. You can resize the window without changing the host resolution.
Yes. They have separate settings and configurable shortcuts. Defaults are Ctrl+Alt+C for clipboard sharing and Ctrl+Alt+M for mouse control while the remote window is focused. Clipboard sharing starts disabled. The host can also deny these permissions.
Linux and mobile clients, a built-in relay, file transfer and multiple simultaneous viewers are not available. Clipboard sharing is text-only. TideDesk does not control Windows UAC prompts or the login screen. Permanent custom passwords, 2FA and an encoder selector are planned, not implemented. See the technical roadmap; future features have no promised delivery date.
Keeping host and viewer on the same release is recommended. Check the release notes for protocol compatibility before updating. The download button checks for the newest complete Windows release, including alpha releases; if that check is unavailable, it opens GitHub Releases.
BEFORE YOU DOWNLOAD
The published alpha executables are unsigned. Microsoft Store MSIX distribution is being prepared. Store packages will be signed by Microsoft after certification; that does not sign the separate GitHub ZIP. No Store listing is live yet.

The app sends screen, system audio, input and optional text clipboard data between the computers you connect. Settings are stored locally. Clipboard contents are not logged.
This website adds no analytics scripts or cookies. It requests public release information from GitHub, which receives technical request data such as your IP address; see GitHub’s privacy statement. Our hosting provider may also process technical request data to deliver and protect the site; see Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
